rita_With a Specialized B.A. in Psychology and a Certificate in Dispute Resolution, Rita Czarny (Chartered Mediator) practices, teaches and coaches mediation and communication skills.
She developed and taught the Family Mediation Certificate in French, at Glendon College/York University.
Rita Czarny is certified with the International Mediation Institute (IMI) and has more than twenty years experience in the field of dispute resolution. Her family practice, as an Accredited Family Mediator (OAFM) includes comprehensive separation and divorce, parent and teen disputes, and extended family disputes.
Rita practices a model of co-mediation with her husband, Sam Czarny, who is also an Accredited Family Mediator (OAFM). They find it invaluable to have four ears during the mediation process and the parties really welcome having both genders as mediators.
They specialize in Restorative Circles, bringing together large groups of people impacted by a dispute, in families and in communities. During this process of true communication, individuals connect with each other in a compassionate way. Rita is a candidate in Certification in Non-Violent Communication.
