What is mediation?
Mediation is not intended to replace therapy, legal or financial advice. Warning: It may yield therapeutic results
- Is a voluntary meeting between people involved in a dispute using a neutral 3rd party as a facilitator
- A co-operative and co-creative process where you design a future which makes sense to you
- Each decision remains totally yours

Why mediation?
- Mediation is a forum to develop a new understanding of the situation. This new awareness provides for a fresh focus towards future solutions
- Mediation is voluntary. Only the people involved can agree to a solution. There is no risk to anyone else imposing a decision
- Mediation promotes timely solutions and a low cost alternative to court procedures
How do we as mediators help resolve conflicts?
- We provide an environment conducive to constructive communication and creative solutions
- We serve as neutral “third parties”, have no stake in the outcome. We help you communicate and hear each other ’s perspective
- We help you identify the problems in relation to your needs. We help you see what can be instead of what cannot be
- We do not do therapy, coerce you or take sides
- We do not judge you, blame you or focus on your past
- We do not have the answers…YOU do!
Family mediation deals with separation, divorce, blended families, inter-generation conflicts…Family conflicts take many forms!
